There were 15 of us at today’s meeting. Donna Rissman came with a tray of brownies to belatedly celebrate my birthday. She always remembers, since her birthday is 2 days after mine. The brownies were scrumptious!
Show and Tell:
Diane Saculla turned in a baby quilt she made.
Carolyn Grasso showed some toys she made and turned over to Ceal for face painting.
Pat Pipa made 2 leaf potholders.
Louise Stem made 2 pillowcases.
Ceal Pedersen turned in a bag full of critters that she painted the faces on.
She painted “USA” on the side of the rockets
and gave eyes to the strange 2-sided dog that we found in one of our donations.
Bev Minnerly made a dog bed and 6 pillowcases.
Eileen DiSanto made 8 snowball blocks and 3 pillowcases.
I made 4 butterfly potholders
We spent the rest of the afternoon selecting fabric and sewing as usual. I brought the red, white and blue 5” squares, some miscellaneous fabric pieces, and some of our fabric in large yards.
For anyone interested in working with some of these supplies, here is what we currently can keep in the closet:
3.5” squares
Some fiber fill
Dryer sheets and fabric strips \
A box of baby fabric
Wrap N Zap and some batting
Freezer Paper
Patterns for toys and most of the projects we have demoed in the past
Ribbon, zippers, metal tape for snap bags, etc.
Some other small items I can’t remember at the moment.
I keep other size squares (4.5,5,6.5,8.5 & 10.5) , more fabric scraps, more fiber fill, insul-bright and batting scraps at home, I can bring any of these upon request.
Next week will be a free sew again. I will send out a list of the projects we have shown in the past again. If anyone wants a repeat of any of these projects, let me know.
Lois
