There were 13 of us at today’s meeting. I brought a variety of supplies and Mic brought several bins of fabric for everyone to select for our projects.
Show and Tell:
Mic Pickard was busy this week. She got to play with her new Scan N Cut to cut fun shapes for a new yard flag, making some out of reflective material.
Then she went to work making items for a friend and her dog in an assisted living facility, She made a scarf, harness,
and a
walker cady to hold the dog’s treats, etc.
Pat Pipa made some leaf potholders and some snowball blocks.
Deb Chapman finished quilt square number 4 in her current
challenge, in 2 sizes, and some snowball blocks.
Louise Stem made 2 pillowcases, some snowball blocks,
and 10 snap bags.
Bev Minnerly made a bear,
a dog bed,
and a stack of doll
bodies.
Anne Knoff handed in a quilt top with backing for me to quilt.
Eileen DiSanto made a bunch of snowball blocks.
There was a runner that was found in a donation that had the binding half on and I finished it for our sale.
Then I took the dryer sheet blocks that have been turned in over the past few months, combined them in sets of 16 blocks and added some borders to make several Mommy-Baby play mats for the new Mom’s at Leesburg hospital.
We spent the rest of the afternoon selecting fabric and sewing as usual. The skies were getting quite dark, so I was happy to pack up early. Thanks again to those who stayed to help. I got lucky, the heavy rain began soon after I got home. It’s supposed to rain all week, but, hopefully next week will be better. Hope to see you then.
