Club Notes - June 11, 2025

For the 2nd week, I made it home in time before the thunderstorms.  I hope you all did too.  This will be the norm for the next few months.

There were 10 of us this afternoon.  Today’s meeting was a little different  After show and tell, we reviewed all the items left over from previous craft sales.  We gathered around a couple of tables while Mic brought a box at a time for us to review.  Some items were designated to go to one of our charities, but we will try to sell most of it again. We reorganized the items, choosing the best of each category to put out first and the rest to hold in reserve under the table.  For most of the items, we reduced the prices as well.

We also decided that we would not make any more items, unless we had something unique to offer.  I am going to put out the aprons I have been making, and will accept anything else that you wish to contribute, however no one is obligated to make anything.

Show and Tell:

Ceal Pedersen showed some toys she painted the faces on,

and 2 quilts that she made.

The back is a pre-printed pattern, not pieced.

Louise Stem finished 6 pillowcases and cut fabric for some more for Laura Tomich to finish at home.

Mic Pickard showed the t-shirt she embroidered (and was wearing.

Diane Sacula showed the latest batch of toys she made, along with her friend who embroiders the faces.

Ellen Hein made a bunch of quilt tops, mostly starting with fabric from our big block box.

I made 2 more aprons from panels, an owl one

and a more masculine deer one.

I also showed a quilt I made as a gift for one of my great nephews, who is getting married in September.

At the end of the meeting, new member Roxann Walas showed me the backpack sides she made, and I convinced her to let me take a picture.

Next week we will be back to normal sewing fun.  Hope to see you then.

Lois
