It was good to be back to El Santiago this afternoon. There were 17 of us, including 1 new member I brought 2 bins of 5” squares (red/pink and blue), plus some new orphan blocks to add to the big block box. I also brought a bin of fabric donations, big enough for toys.
It looks like several ladies made good use of the time we
had off. I went home with lots of baby quilt tops, backpacks, toys, and other
items.
Show and Tell:
Ellen Hein started us off with several finished quilts, pillowcases, receiving blanks, burp pads, and outer sides for some backpacks.
Ceal Pedersen brought back 2 bags full of stuffed animals that she painted the faces on.
Brenda Severa worked on a backpack and finished an orange 9-patch quilt. She also introduced her daughter and
grand-daughter.
Diane Sacula came with a bag full of cats with embroidered
faces. (I call these Cheshire cats
because they are all head 😊)
Mic Pickard showed a different tube turner tool she found donated to Busy Hands. As apposed to the plastic turners we have that you push the fabric through, these have metal tubes and a hook that you use to pull the fabric through.
Deb Chapman showed a baby gown and a small quilt top she is
making for her granddaughter due in July.
Diane Placek made a backpack from our squares.
I showed the double wedding ring quilt I have been working
on for the past year and a half. This
was done on my embroidery machine and is a wedding gift for my great-niece.
After show and tell, everyone got busy sewing and
stuffing. We will see what comes back
in next week.
