Club Notes - May 10, 2023

As usual, we had lots of sewing fun this afternoon.

Show and Tell:

Eileen DiSanto made a giraffe and 2 dinos. (Pat stuffed them during the meeting and gave them to Ceal to paint faces on.)  

She also showed 2 Christmas tree placemats she made.

Ceal Pedersen showed a baby quilt she hand quilted.

Pat Pipa made 2 fall placemats.

Diane Placek showed 2 potholders 

and a phone case she is experimenting with.

Deb Chapman made some potholders and matching placemats

Mary Ellen made potholders and zipper bags.

Ellen Hein showed 3 quilts she finished the binding on.

The first is a quilt I made putting 2 panels together to make a 2 sided quilt.

Ellen made this adorable quilt.

I added the borders and quilted this panel for Honor flight.

Ellen also made several Hospice quilt tops.

After show and tell I showed several easy patterns for mug rugs and place mats.  I also demonstrated a tool to fussy cut designs using a focus tool.  The ones I have are sold by Martelli, but you can make your own out of cardboard or plastic.

We got another fabric donation this afternoon and the ladies sorted through them quickly.

Next week Deb Chapman will demonstrate how to make the hexagon trivet she showed a few weeks ago.  These are made starting with 6 ten inch squares.  I will bring our box of 10” squares for you to practice with.
