Club Notes - January 19, 2022

We had another fun afternoon, with 18 ladies attending.

 I reminded everyone about the Marketplace at Rohan Jan 28-29.  The info is attached.

I also talked about the Sheriff's Youth Ranch request for curtains. I went through some of our large pieces of fabric and selected some that I thought might work.  Mic took it home to measure and see what might work to make the curtains.  I currently have 4 volunteers from Sewing N More and 3 from Allamanda Quilters to work on this easy project. The girl's cabin has 7 windows, so I'm thinking of claiming that one to start.  If anyone else would like to work on this project, let me know and maybe we can pick additional cabins.

Last week I matched up a bunch of pillowcase sets and 30 came back completed today, along with 4 pillows.  I mentioned that I would like to use some of our charity fund to buy additional pillows for the ad litem kids and received unanimous approval for this expenditure.

and another quilt top using another of the half-square triangle patterns.

 

 

 

 

Brenda Severa embroidered some towels

and sewed 10 of the pillowcases I handed out.

 

 

 

 

Ceal Pedersen made a quilt, quilted it, and gave it to Ellen for binding.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Deb Chapman made 2 quilt tops

and some tote bags.

 

 

 

 

Liz Manzione  finished a fleece blanket, 

 

 

a travel tray and a bowl cozy..

 Ellen came with a stack of quilts that she finished the binding for.

Charlotte couldn't be with us today but she sent me a photo of a quilt she made for her son.

and a bunch of zipper bags.
 

Ellen sent me 2 photos after the meeting, of items she made for the SoZo kids, using fleece scraps.

Today's demo was on how to make Kissing Fish Mug Rugs.  I will send the instructions in a separate email.

In addition to the mug rug project, several ladies sorted through the big blocks.  Mic took a bag of recent donations and the box of large fabric pieces home.

Mic is going to run the next (Feb 2nd) meeting since I will be away.  It will be a free sew week. Mic is going to bring back the box of large pieces from today plus the bins of large pieces she has at home,  The task for next week will be sorting these large pieces by color so they will be easy to select for projects. Mic may have some other things in store for Groundhog Day, but you will have to come to the meeting to find out.
