Club Notes - Dec 11, 2019

Lots of great food and fun this afternoon.  Thank you all for the great Christmas gift.  It is nice to know my efforts with the club are so appreciated.

The main announcement today was that I got the info for the annual bus trip to the Sheriff's Youth Ranch.  It will be on Saturday, Feb 22nd.  The flyer is attached to this week's email.  If you would like to go along and see the ranch we support, email me by Jan 15th and I will submit a list.  Cost is $25.

Show and Tell:

Kiki Mitracos showed 2 bibs, some potholders, and some pillowcases she made.

Eileen Di Santo made Christmas Stocking mug rugs for her neighbors.

B.J. Herter showed a shirt apron she made and 2 children's quilt tops.

Pat Pipa made 2 large totes, 2 back packs, and a bunch of zipper bags.

Ellen Hein finished a Hospice quilt, a gift bag and a kid's pillow

Lu Karatzas crocheted a hat and scarf for the doll Bev Minnerly showed last week.

Deb Chapman made a stack of microwave bowls.

Bev Minnerly made 2 adult bibs and a bag she is working on as a gift.

Aileen Lee made 8 cat hammocks.

I showed 2 quilts. The pink one started with a set of 9 blocks already sewn together in our orphan block pile and I just added more around it.

The  other is a 2 sided quilt that was in my UFO pile because I had problems with it when I made it 6 years ago and decided to fix it up for the Wildwood cause.

After show and tell I challenged the group with some Christmas trivia and we played several games of December Holiday Bingo.

There will be no demo next week.  It will be show and tell and free sew day.  This will be the last day to hand in any items you have for the homeless families being sponsored by the Wildwood Food Pantry.  Remember, in addition to crafted items, they will also appreciate used clothing and personal items.  Thanks to Khaki Quilters, Quilting B's, and Allamanda for their help in this project.  The ladies from this organization will be coming to pick up all our donated items between 2:30-3PM that afternoon.  I hope many of you will be able to be there.
