Club Notes for May 17, 2017

I think everyone had a lot of fun yesterday making pillowcases.  As I said in my earlier note, 52 pillowcases were finished. I've also heard from a couple of people who are continuing the effort at home, using some of their own stash.

FYI, this morning Ray and I delivered 26 dog beds to the Marion County Animal Shelter.  We also dropped off 3 quilts, 16 pillow cases, 8 afghans (from Busy Hands) 1 chenille bunny and misc. toiletries to the Ocala Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Shelter.

Show & Tell:

Bev Minnerly finished a small thread catcher and a Pineapple backpack for her granddaughter.  (She said this was tricky so she'll demo it later in the year.

B.J. Herter made a pillow with a cut and shuffle quilt block.

Roberta Kelsey made pillowcases and a thread catcher.

Jane Swafford made pillowcases.

Eileen DiSanto made pillowcases and her thread catcher.

Alice Meunier made 2 quilts for family babies.

Kathy Jones made pillowcases and a zip lock tote.

Laura Tomich made pillowcases and fidget quilts.

Joan Tillinger made a fidget quilt.

Nella Rose made some pillowcases.

Ellen Hein showed pillowcases that Linda Parr sewed and she serged.  She also made more diaper covers, a small and a large purse organizer, and added a band to her shirt to give it the length she needed.

I showed an honor flight quilt and 2 quilts for the Ocala Shelter, made from blocks from our donated fabric stash.

****************
Next week Donna Rissman will be showing us how to turn t-shirts into a quilt.  This is a project I've wanted to do for years, so I'm very excited about it.  Hope to see you all next week.
