Club Notes - November 10, 2021

We had 14 ladies at today's meeting.  Another possible new member stopped by to check us out and I saw Ceal and Judy telling her about our cub.  Hopefully she will come out for next week's meeting to join us.

I let everyone know that I gave 7 of the large quilt we had in storage to St Vincent de Paul's collection on Tuesday.  They had a note in the newspaper that they need blankets.

Deb Chapman gave today's demo of her favorite small purse and several of us took on the challenge..  I will send out the instructions in a separate email.

Show and Tell:

Eileen DiSanto made 2 stuffed cats and 4 little teddy bears.  (Ceal Pedersen did the faces on them.)

Pat Pipa took some squares from our started project box last week and made a quilt top.

Mic Pickard showed her latest Christmas gift quilt.  Last year she made pajamas for everyone in her family and this year she is using the leftover fabric to make quilts to match the PJ's.

Bev Minnerly showed a tote bag she made as a gift.

Judy Mayer used our project tote pattern to make a tote for her car.

Ceal Pedersen took some fabric out of the box of baby fabric I brought last week, cut the images out and appliqued them onto a quilt top.

Mary Ellen Boutin made a patriotic quilt top.

Ellen Hein showed some shirts she made for her grandson for Christmas.

I showed an alligator zipper bag I made on my embroidery machine.

Thanks to Carol Thurston and Mic Pickard for sorting through the latest box of donated fabric.  I came home with 3 dog beds from the scraps and a box of neatly ironed remnants that will go through my Go cutter easily.

I saw several ladies looking through the boxes of fabric I brought and I look forward to seeing what they make with it.

Next week I will be giving a demonstration of how to use edge-to-edge embroidery patterns to quilt a small quilt.   You don't need any supplies for this, but if you are interested you may want to take notes of the process.  I will also bring the box of large fabric pieces.  We have stuffing, zippers, fabric for zipper bags, and 8.5" squares in the closet for anyone to work with.  If you would like anything else, email me.

Hope to see you next week.
